Mar 20, 2008 at 09:42AM About 5 or 6 years ago I participated in an experiment with a small team of 5 independent bloggers to see if we could vastly increase the numbers of visitors to each of our sites simply by blogging about the experiment we were undertaking. The experiment was wildly successful for those of us who stuck it out even though the blogger who lead the experiment failed to finish it leading me to believe it could have been far bigger. It was the lessons learned from that experiment that taught me the basis for building traffic online.
Ever since that experience I've wanted to try and reproduce the results on a bigger scale with bloggers from all over the map be they low traffic blogs or high traffic blogs focusing on any subject. I believe all involved will see a vast increase in the number of visitors no matter what their subject matter or what their opinion of the undertaking.
This time 'round I hope to recruit 20 different bloggers of varying backgrounds, audiences, subject matter, experience, etc. to participate in this traffic building experiment thus proving what I believe to be right or wrong. If you would like to take part in this exercise then please e-mail idleblogs (AT) yahoo.com with the words, "blogging experiment" in the subject line making sure to include the link to your blog and I'll let you know what you need to do.
