Remember When Blogging Was Fun: A Challenge To Bloggers Everywhere

In celebration of the new Blogsboro.com and a return to what first lured me to the art of blogging I'm issuing a challenge to bloggers everywhere. How many of you are up to the challenge? Call it a meme if you like (or not) but it's time many of us-- myself included-- lightened-up a little bit. Here's how:

Steal a photograph of one of your favorite advertising gimmicks-- something other people will remember-- and use a photo or word processing program it to make it your own replacing all or part of the text with the URL of your blog. Here's an example of my own, it's called the Dot Com Cow and you may have seen me using it as my avatar. Then post your creation to your blog and send me the link or leave the link in the comments below. When you do I'll link back to you from here at Blogsboro.com.

It's a form of parody, comes under the guidelines of "fair use" is perfectly legal as long as you don't try to sell it and anyone can do it. I made the Dot Com Cow from a picture I snagged from Chick-fil-A and modified it using the word processing program on my almost 10 year old iMac. If all else fails, print a copy, modify it by hand and scan or photograph it to a .jpg or .gif file.

Come on People, lighten up and have some fun. Creativity is what Blogsboro and blogging are all about-- now get creating!

Those Who Dare
Bethzilla of Greensboring.com accepted the challenge!
Jo Ann Janoski posted her's to her sidebar. Way to go, Jo!
Shirley Allard gave it a spin.

Here's my shot at it, Billy, but in all honestly, all I supplied was the photo and Shirley Allard did all the rest. She's really good...
