Introducing The Blogsboro Mall

Loyal readers may have noticed a vast reduction in the amount of advertising on this blog and the rest of the Blogsboro Network in recent weeks. As one who has been struggling with online advertising scams, spams and general BS for the last 8 years I've found the whole process to be stifling, distracting, occasionally enlightening and almost always a pain in the ass. And did I mention the headaches?

That's why Team Blogsboro has decided to build the Blogsboro Strip Mall. Our mall has links to dozens of retailers who can sell you almost anything in the world. When you shop via the Blogsboro Mall you are supporting all of Team Blogsboro and our Blogsboro Dream of partnering with writers, musicians and other creative people from around the world.

Instead of bombarding you with 3rd party text links, flashing graphics, slow loading video ads and frightening 5 second audio ads we've decided to take a back-to-the-basics approach that incorporates less intrusive mouse-over links and a central portal that will allow supporters to shop online while supporting not only Team Blogsboro but others including indie artists, musicians, writers, video producers and the homeless.

I know the Blogsboro Mall isn't pretty but by shopping there you are supporting lots of folks other than myself and Team Blogsboro.

We'll also improve our mall in time by weeding-out problem stores as we find them and replacing them with better retailers. Also, if there's an online merchant with which you already enjoy shopping, send an e-mail to idleblogs (AT) yahoo.com and we'll try to get them to fill a space in our mall.
