Not Even Dogs By Ernesto Priego

Not_Even_Dogs.jpg Ernesto Priego has been writing the blog, Never Neutural since 2003 and I've been a reader almost that long. About half of the poems posted to his blog are in Spanish but this fine Mexican poet also writes great English language poetry and I'm happy to say I just added his newest book, Not Even Dogs, to the listings at Books by Billy and Friends.

I truly hope Not Even Dogs becomes a best seller.

Flower Confidential By Amy Stewart

I can't claim to have read it but having spent 4 years delivering flowers, the idea that the flower industry needs to become greener isn't lost on me. Such is the message I perceive Flower Confidential By Amy Stewart to bring.

And here's an interesting bite: "We buy more flowers a year than we do Big Macs.." Wow, I had do idea.

I came across Amy's blog while doing research on earthworms as I plan to add worms to my urban livestock farm. Amy also authored, The Earth Moved: On the Remarkable Achievements of Earthworms. Seems chickens and fish really like worms but I don't want to raise commonly found red wigglers as they are a non native invasive species and are destroying hardwood forests across much of the United States and Canada.

Knocking From Inside By Tiel Aisha Ansari

Knocking From Inside is, I think, the first book by American Sufi poet Tiel Aisha Ansari available from the Ecstatic Exchange poetry imprint of poet and scholar Sidi Daniel Abdal-Hayy Moore. I've yet to read the book but I've enjoyed Tiel's poetry blog, Knocking From Inside for a couple of years or more. I've no doubt her book will make for great reading.

Good luck, Tiel, I know you're excited.

Down River By John Hart

I just added the novel, Down River by Greensboro author, John Hart to Greensboro Authors And Musicians Online. John's previous novel The King Of Lies is there as well.

If you're a Greensboro, North Carolina musician or author whose books or CDs are sold through major wholesalers I can probabally add your's as well.

A nod to Ed Cone for pointing out that John lives here in Greensboro.

Surfing The Invisible Web

Since the beginning of the Internet there has existed another Internet known as the Invisible Web or the Deep Web consisting of billions of web pages that cannot be accessed via the usual browser looking for something new or different online.

Much of what exists on the Deep Web are Internet relay chat channels, file-sharing networks, trading sites and secretive online communities but even darker and more dangerous things can be found beyond the reach of everyday search engines. Some even believe there is living advanced, automated artificial intelligence lurking among the invisible.

Could it be a new thinking life form awaits only a few keystrokes from where you are now? What is A3I really? Careful with those typos...

It requires very little in the way of Internet expertise to create a deep web site and estimates are the Deep Web is even larger than the surface web we all access daily. Some claim that as much as 84% of what is currently online remains invisible to all but a few.

In a book titled The Invisible Web : Uncovering Information Sources Search Engines Can't See, Chris Sherman and librarian Gary Price uncover some of the secrets of the Deep Web. Mister Price was awarded the Special Libraries Association's "Innovations in Technology Award" in 2002, and their News Division's "Agnes Henebry Roll of Honor Award" in 2004 for the work he did in writing the book.

Search engines have had little success in penetrating the Invisible Internet and with good cause: Someone somewhere doesn't want everyone everywhere to know what's down there.
