We Couldn't Be More Proud of Billy
Our Own Billy Jones - Discovery Channel Canada Subject
Budd's going to write more about this and post more pictures, but I just wanted to chime in and say how very proud we are of Billy Jones, who was interviewed at length by the Discovery Channel Canada's show Daily Planet today, riding his StreetPlane all around town. I got to drive Billy's truck with the nice videographer, Ross MacIntosh, in the back with Budd, and the lovely producer, Lori Belanger, with me in the cab. We had a great time, and Billy looked great on his StreetPlane, and got lots of looks and comments. We even saw the A&T Drumline marching down Market Street - they sounded great, and the Discovery Channel Canada crew were duly impressed. They were also very, very nice, and we enjoyed interacting with them very much
We're so proud of Billy because he truly is a Renaissance man. Not only is he an inventor, an author, a poet, a humorist, but he's also a conservationist, an activist, a catalyst to help other people, and a hell of a nice guy to know, and very humble as well. We are honored to be his friend.
Here he is, with the StreetPlane and our new banner:

A Big Thanks to Everyone Involved in Joetry
Joetry - A Big Success
A heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in Joetry yesterday at The Coffee Break. We had standing room only, a slew of great performances, and a good time had by all.
Special thanks to our performers, including Clement Mallory and Billy Jones, Dr. Linda Erday and her beautiful children who sang, Emmy and Corey, Verona Botsford and her husband Wyatt, Professor Eric Fink, Budd Wilkins.
Many thanks also to our own Blogsboro team member, Danny Bayer for setting up the sound equipment, which we couldn't have managed without. Danny's also a great performer and hopefully will do a song or two at the next event.
Thanks also to Jerry at the Coffee Break for busting his butt while not feeling too well in handling all the orders. I hope it went well for the Coffee Break, and hope Jerry got a little rest afterwards. He was stellar.
We're all so delighted that Joetry went so well, and keep watching this space for future events, as well as video from the event.
Joetry is THIS WEEKEND!

Greensboro Bicentennial Poetry Contest

Muse on Greensboro - Greensboro Public Library's Bicentennial Poetry Contest
Celebrate the Bicentennial by writing a poem inspired by Greensboro’s past, present, or future. The winning poems will have a clear Greensboro connection. Poetic topics can be concrete in identifying Greensboro people and places or abstract in embracing emotions and understandings inspired by Greensboro events, such as topics about race relations and matters of faith. Let Greensboro become your poetic muse. What inspires and connects you and your family to the places and community life of the Gate City?
Poets may submit up to two unpublished poems. First Place Prizes - $150; Second Place Prizes - $100. There are four divisions for submission, so plenty of chances to win!
Visit the PoetryGSO web site for more information, entry forms and guidelines, as well as a place to submit your poem online. Hurry! The deadline for submitting your entry or entries is February 15!
