Apr 24, 2008 at 10:54AM This morning I had an 8:45 doctor's appointment at the clinic inside Cone Hospital where I've been getting lots of holes poked into me since having a stroke in 2004. Because the weather was nice out this morning I decided to ride my bicycle but when I got there I found there were no bicycle racks to be found.
And when I walked inside I saw signs everywhere encouraging me to walk, do aerobics and bicycle as a means to take better care of my cardiovascular health-- the very reason I take all those pills and allow all those holes in to be poked into my arms. I also participate in a Wake Forest University Hospital cholesterol study at their Greensboro location and there are no bicycle racks there either.
As a matter of fact: very few Greensboro businesses offer bicycle racks and the bicycle racks offered at a few City owned locations are far from being ample or adequate in a city that prides itself on being green. And while my friends at Recycles do have a bicycle rack many other Greensboro bicycle shops don't have any. Which, by the way, is one big lie and everyone in Greensboro knows it.
Somehow, that seems sad. And yes, I do have a solution but I'm not ready to talk about it today.

Billy, One solution for you, next time you have an appointment at the hospital, take your bicycle INTO the hospital, and they then might just get the hint that they need to invest in bicycle racks!
Stacey,
I just might do that, grease and all.
Park it in the CEO's office. They usually have enough room.
