Three Blindfolded Mice?
As we prepare for National Poetry Month and nominations for the 2008 Poet Laureate of the Blogosphere I plan to continue highlighting great poets most every day. Here's two I think you'll enjoy.
A Sudden Urge To Travel
by Shirley Allard
Today I wish that I was free
To travel as I wish
To places I have never been
But know they do exist.
I’d find the soft and gentle kiss
Of a salty ocean air
As gentle breezes slowly tease
Their fingers through my hair.
Run your fingers through Shirley's hair.
Blindfold
by Elizabeth Anne Easter
Seeds of discontent, nestled in the womb
Feeding thoughts of doubt, fat on the misery of the soul,
blinded by a hatred born of insults and disgust
Traveling in life, a floating being, unaware of
all the tragedy without, too focused on
the tragedy within
Take off the blindfold.
