The Cow's Eatin' Jello, Sheep's Readin' Porn
Oct 11, 2009 at 08:55PM Little Boy Blue
Little Boy Blue, come blow your horn;
the cows eatin Jello, the sheep are readin porn.
The chickens are a cackling, what theyre sayins really bad,
and if this is just a dream its the worst I ever had.
Little Boy Blue, come play a song for me
of a time when life was better, or things that just cant be.
Blow your loudest Jazz or lose me in some Blues.
Anything to chase away this life of tryin news.
Little Boy Blue, would you like to stay a while,
woo us with your cool notes, sooth us with your style.
Mommas cookin supper, we could set a plate for you.
No, she wouldnt mind if you played til one or two.
Little Boy Blue, play that song our Momma likes,
the one with all those high notes that really, really spike.
Plays as if were payin an play it really loud.
Play it good an keep it tight so Momma be real proud.
Little Boy Blue, come blow your horn
and blow our blues away.
It's a parody-- get it? Okay, so you don't... Doesn't matter... Who's kidding who? Of course it matters. Anyway, if anyone cares I've been nominated by a friend for the job of Poet Laureate of North Carolina along with who knows how many really deserving poets. Maybe next time I'll share a real children's poem. Maybe someone from the selection committee will actually give it a read.

This one is fun. Congratulations on the nomination!
Having had a cold and crumby day
I logged in to shake the blues away
Ran across your parody and nomination news
And found myself warming up and pleasantly amused
best wished and thanks,
jean
