Psalngs By John Lefebvre
Oct 13, 2009 at 07:21PM
Got a couple of CDs in the mail recently. To the publicist/promoter/agent who sent me a copy of Simple Man by KR Morales: You must be really crappy at your job to think I'd enjoy something like that. To KR: Dude, I'm not dissin' you, your music just ain't the sort of thing us old dudes like to listen to. Do yourself a favor and fire the idiot before he blows your entire marketing budget sending CDs to the wrong reviewers.
As for Psalngs... Well the word isn't to be found in my 1932 page Funky Wagnall small print, Encyclopedic Edition International Dictionary of the English Language but I think the word has something to do with some Old Testament Bible Verses about David and Goliath... Or Moses and Solomon or something from the... Whatever it is, it's a mystery to me.
As for John Lefebvre... Well he's a bit of a mystery too. John is a lawyer who quit the business of practicing law to become a musician. You see, while I've known quite a few very talented people who practice law, it's rare that one of them has the guts to chuck their cushy jobs and actually seek to earn their way as an artist. Fact is: I've seen more musicians fail because of their cushy day jobs than I've seen fail because they weren't talented enough to make it in the music biz. Then again, John was stuck in LA when he recorded the CD so I reckon he made the best of it.
What is also a mystery is the free online release of every song on John's new album. That's right, you don't have to know Clint (John's online marketer) to get Psalngs for free, you can download a free copy at Psalngs.com. I mean, how are they going to make a living if they give it away.
Maybe later I'll tell you about the DVD that came with it.
