Crows And Pecks

Early morn' the rooster crows.
"Can't you see I'm trying to sleep?
It's Saturday, you big dumb bird,
be quiet, don't make a peep!"

But the rooster crows and crows and crows--
seems he didn't heed a word.
"You're not too old for the stew pot
you cantankerous, big dumb bird!"

But alas, he knows my crow is worse than my peck.

I usually have to get up and go to work before any of the women I know wake up but I do kinda recall being woke up by a nagging woman back in my married days.
